GracePoint Chinese Presbyterian Church originated as a Cantonese church planted in Burwood by the Chinese Presbyterian Church, Sydney in 1998. The church partnered with the St James Presbyterian Church in spreading the gospel and building disciples. It was by God's grace the church became independent only in the second year of its establishment, and subsequently by the blessings of CPC and the Presbytery, the church was named Burwood Chinese Presbyterian Church. As members in the church increased progressively, the Burwood premise struggled to accommodate the increasing numbers and through prayers, the church agreed in the 2004 Annual General Meeting to seek another place for church building. In 2010, the new church building was successfully constructed and the church moved its premises here and also renamed itself to GracePoint Chinese Presbyterian Church, to mark and remind all that this was by the grace of our God.
The church is an Australian Presbyterian church and a full member church of the NSW and Sydney Presbytery.
